최고의 SF작이라는 Dune 이 오랜시간 몇번의 영화화 시도 끝에 드디어 개봉했다
물론 1984년 데이빗 린치의 영화가 있었지만

영화사의 간섭으로 데이빗 린치 자신도 이 영화에 대한 언급을 삼가(?)하고 있는 작품이다
이번 작품은 역시 드니 벨뇌브 감독이 만들어서 기대반 걱정반인 영화이다
뚜껑을 열어보니 역시 걱정대로 원작을 아는 이들은 열광하고
그냥 스타워즈 류의 SF영화를 기대한 사람들은 졸작이라고 이야기한다
실제 원작이 있는 영화는 원작을 얼마나 살리느냐도 중요하지만 책으로 읽을때와
영상물로 만들었을때는 완전히 동일하게 만들수가 없다
책은 배경설명을 충분히 할 수 있지만 영상물은 그럴수 없어
이번 영화는 정말 함축적이고 영상에서로 유추가능할 정도로 보여주고 넘어가다 보니
원작을 읽은 사람은 서로 정보를 교환하며 해석하지만 그렇지 않은 사람들은
이게 뭐야? 하는 생각이 든다
게다가 이번 영화는 역시 파트원....
영화가 진행이 되다 뚝 끊어져 버린다.... 여러모로 일반 영화에 비하면 불친절하고 황당할 수 밖에 없다
개인적으로 파트2가 너무 기대되고 1편은 함축적이지만 소설을 충실히 화면으로 구성한것을 칭찬하고 싶고
음악도 너무나도 멋있어서 높게 평가하지만
대중성은 떨어진다
